About WISCO
Wuhan Iron and Steel (WISCO), part of China Baowu Steel Group, has been in continuous production since 1958 as the first large-scale integrated steelworks built after the founding of the People's Republic of China. Its Qingshan site covers 21 square kilometres and produces 16 million tonnes of steel a year. WISCO led the drafting of GB/T 712, China's first internationally-aligned standard for shipbuilding steel, in 1979, and its hot-rolled ship plate holds the "China Famous Brand Product" designation, with annual ship plate sales of 400,000 to 500,000 tonnes. China Baowu Group was ranked first globally for technical competitiveness among steel producers in a 2022 industry assessment linked to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Alongside WISCO, we hold long-standing relationships with Masteel, Xinsteel, Handan Steel and Chongqing Steel. Specifications or volumes outside WISCO's stock range can be checked against these mills.

Quality and documentation
Material is produced at the WISCO mill, which holds works approval from nine classification societies. Released with mill test certificates to EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2, and third-party inspection can be arranged on request.

Material is held across several warehouses in Wuhan. A visit can be arranged to inspect the plate, check the markings and read the certificates; buyers who cannot travel have another route covered.
