Sections & processing
Angle, channel and flat bar, with cutting, edge preparation and pre-treatment to drawing.

Sizes are cut and processed to your drawing rather than held as standard stock. Reference ranges, process, quality control and packaging are set out below; send the drawing or section list for a quotation.
Standard section range
- Equal-leg angle
- 20×20×3 to 200×200×24 mm
- Channel
- 50 to 400 mm web height (No. 5 to No. 40)
- Flat bar
- Thickness and width to your specification
Reference ranges under GB/T 706. Exact sizes are cut and processed to your drawing.
How it's made
From steelmaking to the mill test certificate, every heat goes through the same sequence before it reaches stock.
- 01
Steelmaking & casting
Molten steel to the chemical composition specified for the grade, cast into slab.
- 02
Hot rolling
Slab rolled to the ordered thickness, width and length, or to profile for bulb flat and sections.
- 03
Heat treatment
Normalising or other treatment applied where the grade and thickness require it, to meet the specified impact test temperature.
- 04
Inspection & certification
Chemical and mechanical testing per heat, classification society survey where required, and the mill test certificate to EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2.
Quality control
Every heat is tested against the chemical composition and mechanical property limits in IACS UR W11, surveyed by the classification society where required, and released with its mill test certificate. Certificates are available on request.
Packaging & transport protection
Material is packed for export by sea, whether by container or breakbulk.
Anti-rust protection
Plate and sections are shipped with an anti-rust oil film to resist corrosion in transit; a heavier-duty protective coating can be arranged on request.
Bundling & edge protection
Material is strapped into bundles with steel or composite strapping, with corner protectors to prevent edge damage in handling.
Container & hold securing
Bundles are blocked and lashed inside the container or vessel hold to prevent shifting during the sea voyage.
Classification society approvals
Material is produced at the WISCO mill, which holds works approval from the nine classification societies below. Material is released with the mill test certificate for the relevant heat.
